How to Get an Accurate House Cleaning Estimate: The Details That Matter
A good estimate starts with a handful of specific details. Here's what to gather before you call or text.

An estimate is only as accurate as the information behind it. Two homes that look the same on the street can need very different amounts of work inside. The more specific you are when you ask, the closer the estimate will be to the real job, and the fewer surprises on cleaning day. These are the details that matter most, and why each one counts.
Which kind of clean you want
This is the biggest variable. We offer three services: regular cleaning, deep cleaning and move-in or move-out cleaning. They're different amounts of work. Regular cleaning covers kitchens, bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, mopping and surfaces. Deep cleaning adds detailed attention to buildup, baseboards, hard-to-reach areas and kitchen detailing. Move-in and move-out cleaning is for empty homes. If you aren't sure which fits, say so. Describing the condition of the home is more useful than guessing a label.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
These are the quickest way to gauge the size of a job. Bathrooms in particular matter more than square footage suggests, because each one is a detailed room of its own with a tub or shower, toilet, vanity and floor. Tell us how many bedrooms and bathrooms you have, and mention any extra rooms like an office, bonus room or second living area.
How often you want service
Recurring service can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. The schedule you choose affects what each visit looks like, because a home cleaned every week needs less per visit than one cleaned monthly. If you're still deciding, say that, and describe your household so the schedule can be talked through. If it's a one-time clean, say that too.
Empty or lived-in
An empty home and a furnished one are different jobs. In an empty home there's nothing to work around, and every cabinet, closet and corner is open. In a lived-in home, the work happens around furniture, décor and personal items. Tell us which it is, and if you're moving, share the move date and whether everything is already out.
The condition of the home
Be honest here. It's easy to say the house is in good shape, and an honest description saves time for everyone. Useful things to mention:
- When the home was last cleaned thoroughly, by you or anyone else.
- Whether there's visible buildup on baseboards, grout, shower glass or around the stove.
- Whether you have pets, and whether the floors and furniture show it.
- Whether a renovation, a long stretch away or a busy season left the house behind.
- How much clutter is on surfaces, since the surfaces have to be reachable to be cleaned.
Anything you want extra attention on
If there's a trouble spot, name it. A bathroom with heavy hard water spotting, a kitchen that hasn't had detailed attention, or baseboards you've been meaning to deal with for a year are all things worth saying up front. It lets the estimate reflect the real work instead of an average, and it means the area you care about most doesn't get missed.

Ask what's included
A good estimate should be clear on what the visit covers. Ask which rooms and tasks are part of the service you're booking, and mention anything specific you'd expect to be done. Clear expectations at the start are the simplest way to be happy with the result at the end.
A quick checklist to have ready
- Type of clean: regular, deep or move-in / move-out.
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms, plus any extra rooms.
- One-time or recurring, and how often if recurring.
- Empty or lived-in, and the move date if relevant.
- Pets, and the general condition of the home.
- Any areas that need extra attention.
Estimates are free. Call or text us at (916) 833-3316, or use the form on the Contact page. If you want to read about the services first, start with the Services page. Give us the details above, and you'll get an estimate based on your actual home.
